LOUNGE EXTERNAL CLIENT 2023
Overview
Nacre is a new sub-brand for LOUNGE. The name comes from the Latin word for ”MOTHER-OF-PEARL”, which also derives from the Shakespearian quote “THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER”. The inspiration behind this empowering collection is older women. One of LOUNGE’s main aims is to become a household name, however I feel as though LOUNGE can’t become a household name until they are hitting all ages. LOUNGE’s target customers are all younger and most women over 45 have not heard of the brand. This collection will change that! The collection is a dual-sizing, adjustable, second skin underwear range aimed at women with fluctuating bodies who can’t seem to find good fitting underwear! Although the range isn’t as aesthetically sexy as some of LOUNGE’s other products, it definitely hits the older consumers needs and wants, and a more basic everyday range is what LOUNGE’s current consumer is also asking for. The range will be sold not only in LOUNGE and SELFRIDGES it will also be sold in JOHN LEWIS, because of JOHN LEWIS’ older consumer. Furthermore, THE LOUNGE FOUNDATION will team up with THE MENOPAUSE CHARITY to start raising more awareness for females and the struggles they have to face mentally and physically with menopause as it is simply not spoken about enough! The end goal for this sub-brand is not only to grow LOUNGE’s customer profile and product range but to also raise awareness for females all over the world and let them know that “the world is THEIR oyster” and menopause doesn’t define them.
In this project I had to create a collection of 6 outfits with a new concept that I felt the brand LOUNGE were missing. I decided to create a line of underwear and loungewear aimed at older women, as I felt this was an age range they were missing out from within their consumers.
